The London Gay Big Band presents Liza with a ‘Z’ - and more! - starring Christina Bianco. An unforgettable revival of Liza Minnelli’s iconic 1972 concert with a dynamic new pulse!
Liza with a ‘Z’ was recorded in May 1972 at the Lyceum Theatre, New York and is considered to be the first filmed concert on television. It showcased the many talents of Liza Minnelli, with direction and choreography by the legendary Bob Fosse and featured music by Cabaret songwriting team John Kander and Fred Ebb. The hit concert special went on to win 4 Emmy Awards and the album was certified Gold.
Join vocal powerhouse and internationally acclaimed star, Christina Bianco as she and the 28-piece London Gay Big Band bring this unique concert event to life with a new pulse, while paying homage to the legendary Liza Minnelli! Award-winning choreographer David Allwood and his dance troupe reimagine Fosse's original work, echoing his iconic style with a fresh, modern flair.
Expanding the original programme, additional Liza Minnelli hits are seamlessly incorporated into the concert, giving audiences a dynamic event they'll never forget! Songs include Ring Them Bells, Son of a Preacher Man, God Bless The Child, All That Jazz, Bye Bye Blackbird, New York, New York and selections from the musical Cabaret.

Pride 2020 is very different this year due to the ongoing public health pandemic, so as we can't celebrate and perform together, we're releasing our Pride single, recorded in isolation from everyone's home in lockdown.
This is not a time to be silent - our LGBTQ+ community must stand together in solidarity, louder and stronger than ever. So in that spirit - don't rain on our parade!
All profits from this single will be donated to charities Stonewall and Mermaids, who work tirelessly for LGBTQ+ equality and supporting trans and gender-diverse children.

We are so proud to present our new album - Freedom. As the London Gay Big Band, we wanted to create and album that breaks traditional boundaries and conventions of classic Big Band style. In choosing to re-imagine these songs we hope we have given them a strong LGBT+ identity with the true spirit of Freedom.
