The London Gay Big Band presents Liza with a ‘Z’ - and more! - starring Christina Bianco. An unforgettable revival of Liza Minnelli’s iconic 1972 concert with a dynamic new pulse!
Liza with a ‘Z’ was recorded in May 1972 at the Lyceum Theatre, New York and is considered to be the first filmed concert on television. It showcased the many talents of Liza Minnelli, with direction and choreography by the legendary Bob Fosse and featured music by Cabaret songwriting team John Kander and Fred Ebb. The hit concert special went on to win 4 Emmy Awards and the album was certified Gold.
Join vocal powerhouse and internationally acclaimed star, Christina Bianco as she and the 28-piece London Gay Big Band bring this unique concert event to life with a new pulse, while paying homage to the legendary Liza Minnelli! Award-winning choreographer David Allwood and his dance troupe reimagine Fosse's original work, echoing his iconic style with a fresh, modern flair.
Expanding the original programme, additional Liza Minnelli hits are seamlessly incorporated into the concert, giving audiences a dynamic event they'll never forget! Songs include Ring Them Bells, Son of a Preacher Man, God Bless The Child, All That Jazz, Bye Bye Blackbird, New York, New York and selections from the musical Cabaret.
